MARCUS WELLS TODAY
About Marcus
Only 12 years old when Elvis left us, Marcus has been a lifelong Elvis fan. Marcus started performing his own music in the late 70s and carried on through most of the 80s. In doing so, he garnered considerable experience in terms of songwriting and performing. In 2001, Marcus realized that the time was right to put his talent out there again after a few years' hiatus, and started performing again, this time paying tribute to one of his (and the world's) favourite entertainers, Elvis.
Today, Marcus feels that his craft has been well honed and that it can be used to lend a helping hand and entertain others around him. Marcus readily acknowledges that Elvis had a special way about him that could easily bring a smile to even the saddest. He feels privileged to be able to carry on this legacy today, through his tribute to Elvis.
Since the beginning of his "Elvis" career, Marcus has been honored with several awards, namely: In 2002, Marcus became provincial Grand Champion by winning first place in the non-pro division at Brantford. In 2003, Marcus received the prestigious "People's Choice Award 2003" at Brantford. In 2004, Marcus became Canadian Grand Champion (Concert/Vegas years - non-pro division) at Collingwood,. In 2006, Marcus came in third finalist in the pro division in Collingwood. He also also garnered several "People's Choice Awards" through Lady Luck Music. .Marcus has also received several civil mentions and awards for his involvement with charity work, the most prestigious by far being a provincial citation given by Brantford MPP Dave Levac.
